Support at Home Program

About the Support at Home Program

The Support at Home program provides government-funded assistance to help older Australians live independently, safely, and comfortably in their own homes.
Through this program, you receive a personalised budget and support plan based on your care needs. VASS is an approved multicultural aged-care provider offering services that are respectful, flexible, and tailored to your cultural and language preferences.

How It Works

  • You’ll have a Support at Home classification that determines your budget and the types of services you can access.
  • Your support plan is developed with you, your family, and your chosen provider.
  • You’ll only pay for the services you receive — there are no standard daily fees.
  • Services are designed to promote independence, wellbeing, and connection with community.

Services You Can Access with VASS

As a multicultural and culturally aware aged-care provider, VASS offers a wide range of home-based supports including:

  • Clinical and health supports – nursing care, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and allied health.
  • Everyday living assistance – help with showering, dressing, meals, transport, cleaning, and shopping.
  • Home modifications and assistive technology – to improve safety, mobility, and independence.
  • Short-term support pathways:
    • Restorative Care Pathway – to help you regain or maintain independence after illness or injury.
    • End-of-Life Pathway – providing support and comfort for people who wish to remain at home during their final months.
  • Culturally appropriate services – delivered in Arabic and other community languages, with interpreter support available.
