About

The Victorian Arabic Social Services (VASS)

VASS is an incorporated not-for-profit association providing support to people of Arabic-Speaking-Background (ASB) communities in Victoria, inclusive of Chaldean and Assyrian communities. VASS provides a range of support including counselling, case work, referrals, advocacy, community development, mediation, and social, cultural and linguistic support to people of ASB and other culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Our Services

VASS has many programs and activities across the State under its Aged Care and Disability Support Services banner.

VASS Support at Home program provides government-funded assistance to help older Australians live independently, safely, and comfortably in their own homes.

The Volunteer Coordination Program provides mutual companionship through home visits and social outings for those who may be socially isolated

VASS Planned Activity Groups (PAGs) and Social Support Groups assist disabled and frail aged individuals or their carers, who are socially isolated.

The Victorian Arabic Social Services (VASS) Family Services consists of intake, assessment and referral services, family counselling, family strengthening projects

VASS facilitate a Playgroups in the City of Hume. The program is designed to improve family capacities and connectedness, and are funded by Commonwealth

The National Disability Insurance Scheme provides funding directly to individuals who have a disability, to pay for supports and services they need to be more independent
